Snapper

IT WAS REALLY REALLY HEAVY WAS GOING TO LOSE MY GRIP I HAULED IT UP OUT OF THE WATER IT WAS A.... READ ON TO FIND OUT MORE.....

It was a still grey day in the Marlborough sounds in the South Island the 4 of October.
I was down on the jetty with my life jacket on and a bucket of salted ice behind me and of course a ruler and safety kit lets hope we don't need to use it.
*
I was hoping to catch something yummy to eat but I soon figured that on a still grey day like this there isn't much at all. My dad was up at the batch having a coffee keeping a close eye on me. He came down to check on me and my dog Pete. I had been chucking sticks in the water for him so he was a bit cold. So dad went up with Pete to go keep him nice and warm.
*
One last cast I thought to myself in my head just one more. I casted my line into the water I stood there for a while. THEN SUDDENLY, IT PULLED UNDER, I WAS SCREAMING IT WAS STRONG, I THOUGHT I CAUGHT THE EAGLE RAY that had drifted slow but gently a we while earlier.BUT THIS WAS NO EAGLE RAY IT WAS A FISH A BIG FISH SO STRONG I FELT LIKE WAS GOING TO LOSE MY GRIP.dad ran down to see what all the screaming was about I hauled it up out the water a SNAPPER. Just as Pete ran down onto the jetty he was trying to bite it I was screaming trying to keep it out of his jaws.
*
Dad told him to go away I finally rested it down onto the jetty we made sure It was the right size it was perfect. Dad put into to the salted ice. And bought it up. I checked to make sure I was all right I was shaking with excitement. My guess was it was trying to find some spots and stumbled upon my bacon?
*
Dad said to me it's better than playing boarded games. I laughed in agreement.
Later we ate, yum my first ever snapper It was a goodin. And actually the day befor I caught a tereaki but it was too small ('sigh') o we'll better luck next time!!!! :)

Writing

Below is some quick writing that I created. My topic choice was imagine you are stuck inside a snow globe.

I inside playing with my snow globe. It was a wintry day cold and weak outside.
Suddenly I dropped the snow globe, sparkles flow out and swirled around me.
I wake up to find I’m outside where it's snowing. Flakes drifting down, I turn around to find two nicely lit houses. I knocked on a door. A clay looking figure opens it. “You must be new around,”it spoke in a friendly voice.
I stared at her looking puzzled, then I spoke “I’m not new around here I live right down there”... My voice drifts away only to see the two houses.
Suddenly I remember what had happened. suddenly I went into over drive. “I remember I dropped the snow globe. Sparkles flew out and I end up on the road and found you. Please help me get out!!!!”
“Oh. Um. I think you caught a flu dear come inside.”

“No I'm telling the truth please help me get out. Please, please, please help”
"Um but if you break out we might die and we can’t have that."
“But I’m from the real world!!!!!!”

“Oh my goodness gracious me. We never talk about that here.”
“But please help me get out” “hmmmmmmmm”
She thought for a while “I've got it. The only way back is to brake the right spot so that were all safe and I know just the spot”.
They walked outside to a tall tree where there on the glass was a door. “you have to brake that in the perfect spot make the wrong move we all die.”

My body was tense, scared nerves make wrong and I good be gone for good!!!!

I got a tiny pair of s and broke the outline.
SUDDENLY SPARKLES FLEW AROUND ME THEN…………

I woke up at home. My snow globe was fixed and everything back to normal.

character vignette

                                      my character vignette

A man walks over a long rusty bridge memorising  Auckland when was young, comparing it to now  were lights dash tall buildings clash lanes being built.
He pulled his hat down, put his hands in his pockets and stalked off into the night shadows following him, colours fading as he walks, yet he is alone, hungry, homeless, sad.
Cars race past like a dog chasing a rabbit. Little leaves stumble to the ground no more stars to full up the night sky in there places a long grey cloud.
